Terms & Conditions

Gymnastics floor routine music

These terms are here to keep things clear and fair for both of us. They're written in plain English on purpose. Nothing is hidden and there are no surprises. If anything is unclear, please just email us before submitting your request and we'll happily talk it through.

1. Who we are & what we do

Beyond Floor Musics ("we", "us", "our") composes and produces competition floor routine music for gymnastics clubs, coaches and individual gymnasts ("you", "the client").

We offer two separate things, and they have different terms:

  • Bespoke music: composed to order from the brief you supply on the request form. £35.00 per track. Further revisions after your two free rounds are £2.50 each. Covered by sections 2 to 6 and 13.
  • Stock / library music: ready-made tracks bought from our online library with a single purchase or a token. Edits and revisions to a library track are requested through the contact form and are £5.00 each, charged in addition to the token or single-track payment for the song itself. Covered by sections 7 to 11.

Where a section names one of these two, it applies to that one only.

2. Bespoke music: pricing & payment

Each bespoke track is £35 GBP, paid by bank transfer. This is a one-off cost. There are no subscriptions, hidden fees or ongoing royalties.

Once we've read your brief and confirmed we're happy to take it on, we'll email you our bank details. Composition begins as soon as the £35 has cleared. Please send us a quick confirmation once payment is sent. A short email or a screenshot of the transaction to musicrequest@beyondfloormusic.co.uk is perfect.

The £35 fee is non-refundable once work has started, as it covers the time spent composing, producing and mixing your demos. If we haven't started yet and you change your mind, just let us know and we'll refund in full.

3. Bespoke music: demos & revisions (£2.50 each)

This section applies to bespoke commissions only, meaning music we compose to your brief for £35.00. It does not apply to stock library tracks. Edits to library tracks are covered in section 8 and are charged at £5.00 each.

You'll first receive three 20-second demo excerpts. These are short previews showcasing the main musical direction, feel and hook of three possible routes we could take your track in. You then choose your favourite one for us to develop into the full-length piece.

Once the full bespoke track is delivered, you're entitled to up to two rounds of revisions at no extra charge. These cover tweaks to arrangement, mix balance, edits or timing. Any further revisions to that bespoke track are charged at £2.50 per revision, so you always stay in control of the cost.

Please note that substantial changes to the original brief (e.g. changing genre, mood or theme after the demos have been approved) sit outside normal revisions and may be quoted separately. We'll always agree any additional cost with you in writing first, before doing the work.

4. Bespoke music: turnaround & your responses

We ask for a minimum of one week's notice from the date of your request, and you can pick a deadline up to six months ahead on the form. To keep your project on schedule, please try to reply to demos and revision drafts within 48 hours where possible.

If we don't hear back from you within 14 days of sending a demo or revision, we'll gently assume you're happy and treat that version as the final delivery. This just protects both of us from projects sitting open indefinitely. If life gets busy, a quick email is all we need to pause things.

5. Delivery format (bespoke and library)

Your finished track is delivered by email or download link in both high-quality MP3 and WAV formats, ready to use straight away on competition and training playback systems.

6. Bespoke music: ownership & usage rights

Once payment has cleared and the final track is delivered, you (the commissioning club, coach or gymnast) receive a perpetual, worldwide licence to use the music for competition, training, displays, shows and any related activity, for as long as you need it. In plain terms: it's yours to use, forever.

The music is 100% original and composed entirely by us. It contains no third-party samples, no label recordings and no publisher-controlled material. Because of this, there are no royalties payable on the composition or recording itself.

We ask two small things in return:

  • The track is bespoke to you and shouldn't be sold on, sublicensed or passed to other clubs or gymnasts as their own competition music.
  • We keep the right to reference the piece as a portfolio example of our work and to use short excerpts (up to 15 seconds) for promotional purposes (e.g. showreels, website, social media), with a credit to your club where appropriate. We won't release the full track publicly.

7. Library tracks: what your licence covers

Tracks bought from our online library work a little differently to bespoke commissions. When your payment clears, you receive a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use that track for competition routines, training, displays, shows, gradings and club recordings. Once a song is purchased you keep it for life and can reuse it over and over again.

Library tracks are non-exclusive: other clubs and gymnasts may buy and use the same track. If you need a piece that nobody else can have, that's what our bespoke commissions are for.

The licence is granted to one club, coach or gymnast and can't be transferred, resold, shared, uploaded to another music library or distributed as a standalone audio file. You may include the music in routine footage that is streamed, broadcast or posted on social media, and in your own club promotional videos.

8. Editing & adapting library tracks (stock music edits: £5.00 each)

You're welcome to trim, shorten, loop, fade or re-order a library track so it fits your routine timing and your governing body's rules. Edits are for your own routines only. An edited version still can't be sold on or shared as audio.

Some library tracks are full-length pieces. If you'd like us to do the editing for you, send us a song edit request through the contact form, telling us which track it is and the exact timings you want changed. Each edit or revision to a library track you've purchased is charged at £5.00 per revision, agreed with you before any work starts.

The £5.00 edit fee is in addition to the cost of the track itself. You still need to buy the library track, either with one token or with a single-track payment of the equivalent value, and the £5.00 is charged on top of that purchase for each revision requested.

To be clear: the £5.00 library edit rate applies only to stock library tracks. It is separate from the £2.50 bespoke revision rate in section 3, which applies only to music we composed to your own brief.

9. Previews, streaming & watermarks

Everyone can listen to a short preview of each library track. Signed-in members can also stream the full length of our songs before buying. These streams carry a spoken watermark and are for listening only.

You agree not to record, capture, download or redistribute preview or streaming audio, and not to remove, mask or attempt to remove the watermark. Clean, watermark-free files are supplied only after payment.

10. Tokens, single purchases & expiry

A single library song is £15. You can also buy token bundles: 3 for £40, 5 for £60 or 10 for £100, where one token downloads one song.

Tokens expire 12 months from the date of purchase. Each bundle expires on its own anniversary, so if you buy 3 tokens and later buy 5 more, only the first 3 expire a year after that first purchase. Tokens are spent oldest-first, so your soonest-expiring tokens are always used before newer ones. Expired tokens have no cash value and can't be refunded or reinstated.

All token purchases, single and bundled, are non-refundable. Tokens are digital credits released to your account straight away, so once payment has cleared we cannot refund them, exchange them for cash or transfer them to another account. This applies whether or not you have spent them. Your legal rights still apply if a file you download is faulty, corrupt or not as described, as covered in section 11.

Songs you have already downloaded stay in your member dashboard and can be re-downloaded at any time, free of charge, even after your remaining tokens have expired.

11. Your right to cancel digital purchases

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you would normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. Because library tracks are digital content supplied immediately, you agree, by completing checkout and confirming you've read these terms, that we may start supplying the download straight away and that you lose your 14-day right to cancel once the download begins.

This doesn't affect your legal rights if a file is faulty, corrupt or not as described. Tell us and we'll replace it or refund you.

12. Playing our music in public (PPL / PRS / TheMusicLicence)

Good news first: our music is genuinely royalty-free. We compose, perform and own every part of it, so there are no third-party rights holders, no PPL or PRS royalties due on the composition or the recording, and nothing extra for you to pay us however often you play it.

That means if you're playing our music somewhere that doesn't need a public performance licence, or somewhere you're already permitted to play music you hold the rights to, such as a private club session, a village hall or school hall with its own arrangements, or a venue that has told you its own cover applies, you're very welcome to go ahead and enjoy it. Once you've bought a track, using it for your routines, training and displays is exactly what it's there for.

The one thing to be aware of is that in the UK, when recorded music is played in public, the club, coach, event organiser or venue is the party responsible for holding any licence that venue needs, usually "TheMusicLicence" from PPL PRS Ltd or equivalent cover held by the venue itself. Many venues already have this, so often there is nothing further for you to do. Because that licence covers the venue rather than our music, it sits with you or your venue rather than with us, and we can't take responsibility for how or where a track is played. If you're ever unsure, a quick word with your venue, PPL PRS or your governing body will confirm it.

You're also responsible for making sure the music meets the rules of your governing body (e.g. British Gymnastics, IGA) and any competition-specific requirements around length, edits, lyrics and content.

13. Cancellations & refunds (bespoke commissions)

If you cancel before we've started composing, we'll refund your £35 in full. No questions asked. Once work has started (i.e. demos are being produced), the fee becomes non-refundable, as covered in Section 2.

14. Our liability

We take real care with every piece we make, but in the unlikely event that something goes wrong, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the track (£35). We won't be responsible for any indirect losses (such as competition entry fees, travel costs or scoring outcomes) connected with the use of the music.

15. Things outside our control

If something genuinely outside our control affects delivery, such as serious illness, power or internet outages, hardware failure or similar, we'll let you know as soon as we can and agree a revised deadline or a refund with you, whichever works best.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

17. Contact

Any questions at all, before, during or after your commission, please email musicrequest@beyondfloormusic.co.uk. We're friendly, promise.
